• defining the NBU general policy and drafting the regulatory framework in the following areas: 
• payment and settlement systems regulation
• cashless payments
• oversight of financial market infrastructures taking into account the international oversight standards
• developing and upgrading the NBU’s System of Electronic Payments
• development, support and maintenance of the NBU BankID System    
• operation and development of the National Payment System PROSTIR (hereinafter referred to as the NPS PROSTIR)

• ensuring the operation and development of the NBU BankID System
• ensuring the operation and development of the NPS PROSTIR, ensuring the routing and mutual settlements between participants of the NPS PROSTIR
• expert evaluation of activities of the payment services market participants
• ensuring the regulation of the payment market infrastructure regarding innovative products/services
• implementation of basic provisions of the international settlement standards
• analysis of trends of the payment infrastructure market in Ukraine and globally
• assessing financial market infrastructures regarding their compliance with the Ukrainian laws and international oversight standards
• inspections of overseen entities and, if needed, implementation of corrective measures
• promoting the development of electronic money market in Ukraine, including enlargement of a range of its issuers.
